This page is designed to assist new users with common queries about their C-182 package and the use of the battery charger and the flight simulator program.
The new peak detect charger that comes with the C-182 package is an extremely good unit, designed to charge 4-9 cells Ni-mh or Ni-cd. It has a variable charge current of 0.3A- 1.8A
Some people have reported this unit faulty as it did not give a full charge to a brand new battery. It is NOT faulty, this is a safety feature of the unit that false peaks and cuts off when it detects an unacceptable voltage differential in the cells.
The easiest way to overcome this is for the first 4 – 6 charges on a new battery, the user charges at the lowest setting (0.3 A). Simply the turn the knob all the way to the left to do this.
When the charger is first plugged into the cigarette lighter, the green light flashes slowly 4 times and then starts flashing quickly. Connect the battery to the other end. When the pack has charged, the light will go steady green.
It is important it is monitored for these first few charges, to ensure it does not false peak and cut off. Check the pack every 5 minutes and ensure the green light is still flashing. If not unplug everything and repeat the procedure. This can be done several times until the pack fully charges.

Some people have reported problems with using the USB interface cable on Laptop computers. This problem lies with the particular laptop and not the flight simulator program or the transmitter or the lead. The easiest way to prove this is to install the exact same components on a desktop computer and see that it all works fine.
If you are one of the few who are unable to use the transmitetr interface on your laptop, you will need to download and install the following program to your computer: FMS USB Drive for Notebook computers IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER - This program is installed at your own risk. E-GO models will not accept any responsibility for problems to your computer, crashes or lost data. If you have any concerns, back up all data before loading this program.
If this does not work, you will need to connect to the website of the manufacturer of your laptop computer and download all the applicable drivers as they weren’t all installed in the factory. This should fix any remaining problems.
